March 11 Message to Administrative and Support Staff

Dear Administrative and Support Staff Colleagues,

This message is to provide additional detail regarding the institutional response to the novel coronavirus and associated COVID-19 disease. We want to prepare for the potential effect COVID-19 may have on our institutions and to take appropriate steps to protect the health and well-being of our campus community.

Please visit the CSB/棋牌以小博大活动 website for regular and ongoing updates.

The following courses of action are based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our own campus response to previous disease outbreaks.

Travel

All departments are asked to give careful consideration to any non-essential college/university travel to determine if canceling, rescheduling, or managing the event/activity electronically is an option.

All staff members returning from a country with a CDC Level 3 Travel Advisory must self-monitor for 14 days before returning to campus. According to the CDC, self-monitoring means that people “should monitor themselves for fever by taking their temperatures twice a day and remain alert for cough or difficulty breathing” and to contact their health care provider with any concerns.

In addition, staff using institutional resources to travel to a CDC Level 2 location must get approval from their Divisional VP prior to traveling.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

CSB/棋牌以小博大活动 will continue to review this rapidly evolving situation as well as current travel advisories and may impose additional restrictions as necessary.

Supervisors must report any cases of self-quarantine and/or self-monitoring to the Director of Human Resources.

Leave of Absence

In the event of self-quarantine in which working remote is not an option for the full period of leave, the following leave provisions may be utilized:

  • Use of accrued sick leave and/or vacation leave
  • Personal Leave (unpaid up to two weeks)
  • Furlough (if insufficient leave accrual is available). Furlough is unpaid leave without impact to benefits coverage.

Medically certified absences may be processed under the Family Medical Leave Act, as applicable.

Supervisors should consult with Human Resources prior to approval of the above options.

Prevention

CSB/棋牌以小博大活动 has taken steps to enhance campus cleaning schedules of surfaces and items that are more likely to have frequent hand contact (e.g. desks, doorknobs, and computer keyboards). Persons should cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and throw the tissue in the trash after using it. Frequent hand washing with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing, and the use of the sanitizing hand cleaners are encouraged. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth to limit the spread of germs.

A team of administrators is working closely with campus and public health officials to stay informed of changing developments and to develop plans to prevent interruptions for campus operations.

Thank you for your commitment to the safety of our community and for being respectful of colleagues and students during this time.

Sincerely,

Carol Abell
